In 1947, American designer George Nelson was commissioned to create a watch collection. Nelson analyzed how people used clocks and concluded that they read time by distinguishing the respective positions of the hands, making the use of numbers redundant. Furthermore, he believes that wall clocks have become more and more of a decorative element, as most people wear them.

These ideas formed the basis of the first collection of 14 completely new style clocks: compact wall and table clocks, which were launched on the market in 1949. Although all models have one thing in common: no numbers, the variety of shapes, colors, materials and design couldn't be better.
